Short-term van leasing

Short-term van leasing on 6 and 12 month contracts

Fixed 6 and 12 month van contracts at the lowest monthly cost we offer. For when the contract has an end date and the van should too.

In short

A short-term van lease is a fixed contract hire agreement for a commercial vehicle, most commonly over 6 or 12 months. Servicing, maintenance, road fund licence, manufacturer warranty and commercial breakdown assistance are included; you arrange insurance, fuel, racking and livery. Prices in our fleet currently start from around £379 per month plus VAT, and VAT-registered businesses can normally reclaim 100% of the VAT on a van used solely for business.

If the requirement might run past six months, ask us to quote twelve as well — the monthly saving often makes the longer term cheaper overall.

Frequently asked questions

Yes. Six and twelve month van leases are the two most commonly supplied terms in our commercial fleet. You pay an initial payment of typically one to two monthly rentals, then fixed monthly payments, and hand the van back at the end.

Our van fleet currently starts from around £379 a month plus VAT for a medium panel van on a six month contract with 1,500 miles a month. Larger vans, automatics and specialist conversions sit higher. Every quote confirms the monthly figure, initial payment, mileage allowance and excess mileage rate in writing.

Twelve months, per month — the depreciation spreads across twice as many payments. Six months costs more monthly but commits you to less. If the contract driving the requirement has a known end date, match the lease to it.

A VAT-registered business can normally reclaim 100% of the VAT on a commercial vehicle used solely for business purposes, which is a meaningful difference from a car where the usual position is 50%. Your accountant should confirm your specific circumstances.

You pay an excess mileage charge at a pence-per-mile rate quoted before you sign. On vans this adds up faster than people expect, so it is worth being realistic about mileage at the quote stage rather than optimistic.

Sometimes, depending on availability. More often the van is supplied plain and you fit your own racking, which is generally fine provided it is removed and any damage made good before return. Tell us at the quote stage so we can flag anything.
